Ingredients
- GLAZE:
- 16 servings - 1.5 lb. loaf / 16 1.5 oz. servings
- 2/3 cup buttermilk (at room temperature)
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups unbleached, all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Preparation
Step 1
* Place ingredients, in order listed, in bread pan.
* Place pan in bread maker, select Quick Bread/Cake, Medium Crust and 1.5 Lb. Loaf Size. Press start.
* After dough has mixed for 4 minutes, stir sides and bottom of dough in bread pan to ensure even mixing. Close and continue cycle.
* For glaze, combine lemon juice and zest with sugar and mix well.
* When cycle is finished, remove bread pan and pour glaze over top of loaf and allow to rest for 10 minutes then remove to rack and allow to cool completely before slicing.
* Store wrapped in waxed paper and zip-lock bag.
