Ingredients
- 3/4 C butter, softened
- 1 C packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 t baking powder
- 1/4 t ground nutmeg
- 1 egg
- 3 T tahini (sesame paste) or peanut butter
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 C whole wheat flour
- 1 2/3 C flour
- 1/3 C sesame seed

Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg; beat till combined. Beat in the egg, tahini or peanut butter and vanilla. Beat in the whole wheat flour and as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour and the sesame seed with a wooden spoon. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball by pressing with the tines of a fork in a crisscross pattern.
Bake in a preheated 375 oven for 7 to 9 minutes or till lightly browned.
