Ingredients
- 1 cup Hard margarine (or butter), softened
- 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 1/4 cups Quick-cooking rolled oats (not instant)
- 1 cup Raisins

Preparation
Step 1
Cream margarine and brown sugar in large bowl. Add egg. Beat well. Add vanilla. Beat until smooth.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Add to margarine mixture in 2 additions, mixing well after each addition until no dry flour remains.
Add rolled oats and raisins. Mix well. Drop, using 1 tbsp. (15 mL) for each, about 2 inches (5 cm) apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in 350°F (175°C) oven for 8 to 10 minutes until golden. Let stand on cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen (42) cookies
