Homemade Popovers 1 Picture


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar



Step 1

Preheat oven to 375º.

Generously grease 12 muffin tines, greasing well on the edge and around the top as well.

In a 2-quart sauce pan melt the butter. Add milk and bring to a boil. Add flour all at once, stir vigorously. Cook and stir until mixture forms a ball that does not separate.

Remove from heat; cool slightly, about 5 minutes.

Add eggs one at a time, beating with a wooden spoon after each addition for 1 minute or until smooth.

Fill muffin cups 1/2 full and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 375º for 40-45 minutes. Remove to rack and serve immediately. These are best fresh out of the oven.
