Ingredients

  • 1 c butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3-3/4 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1-1/2 tsp anise

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, blend well.

Sift flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar. Add to creamed mixture. Add extract.

Chill for a few hours.

Roll 1/4" thick with a rolling pin. Cut with cookie cutters.

Bake at 425 on an ungreased cookie sheet for 6-8 minutes.

Cool on a wire rack.
