German Hot Slaw
- 5 slices bacon
- 1 small chopped cabbage (or 1/2 large one)
- 1 1/2 T sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- Dash pepper
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 1/2 T vinegar
Fry bacon until crisp and cut in small pieces.
(Leave grease in skillet until later)
Add bacon to cabbage, which has been mixed with sugar, salt, pepper and onion.
Cover and let stand.
When ready to serve, add vinegar to bacon grease and reheat. Pour over cabbage mixture and serve immediately!
