Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 5 cups peeled, sliced apples
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
Blend 1/2 cup sugar, butter and flour with pastry blender. Stir in nuts. Press 1/2 crumbs on bottom of 9" square pan and 3/4" up the sides. Combine apples with flour, sugar and cinnamon. Spoon into pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining crumbs over top. Bake another 20-30 minutes longer.
