Ingredients
- Marinade:
- 1-1/2 lbs. boneless pork
- 1-1/2 tablespoons honey combined with
- 1-1/2 tablespoons hot water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon sesame paste
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 slice fresh ginger
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Dash red food coloring

Step 1
Marinade:
Combine marinade ingredients in bowl.
Cut pork into strips 1-1/4" x 6 inches. Piece all over with a skewer. Add to marinade, stirring to coat. Let stand 1 hour or overnight in refrigerator.
Roast pork Chinese style on a rack over a pan of water at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Baste with marinade. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Roast another 10 minutes.
Brush pork with honey mixture on each side, and continue cooking for 10 minutes. Slice pork thinly. Serve hot or cold or in combination recipes.
