Ingredients
- 2 tblsp yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 1/3 cups sugar DVD
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 3/4 cups flour
- 3 tblsp jam
- 1 egg white, beaten

Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in warm milk and water. Add the butter and 1/3 cup sugar, the yolks and salt. Mix well. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Transfer to a greased bowl to rise 1 1/2-2 hours.
Punch down dough. Turn onto floured surface, knead 10 times. Divide in half. Roll each portion to 2-1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a round cutter. Place small amount of jelly in center, brush egg wash around the edge and cover with another round, pressing edges to seal. Rise for another hour. Then fry and sugar as you remove from oil.
