Ingredients
- 1 pound dried split peas(16 ounces)
- 1 onion
- 2 carrots
- 1 ham steak divided
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 7 cups of water
- maple glazed ham topping-
- reserved ham from above
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Preparation
Step 1
Chop your onion, carrots, and ham.
Reserve half of the ham for later.
Dissolve the chicken bouillon cubes in a small amount of hot water.
Add the all the ingredients to the slow cooker, except for half of the ham.
Cook on low for 10 hours.
When cooking time is done, whisk the soup until creamy.
Brown the reserved ham in the butter and maple syrup in a pan.
Top each bowl with the browned ham.
