Cubed Steak and Rice Casserole

Ingredients
- ◦1 pound cube steaks (from top round)
- ◦your favorite nsa seasoning, to taste (I used garlic and onion Spike)
- ◦fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- ◦1 cup uncooked brown rice
- ◦3 (14.25 oz) cans nsa beef broth
- ◦1/2 cup red wine

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a 2-3 qt saucepan, reduce the broth to 3½ cups. With your fingers, pound/press seasoning into steak. In a hot pan, quickly sear steaks. Remove and place in casserole dish. Deglaze pan with ½ cup red wine, loosening any bits with spatula. Add wine to broth, then add a little water, if necessary, to make 4 cups liquid. Pour rice over steak. Pour the liquid over steak and rice. Cover; cook until liquid is absorbed, about 1½ hours. Serve hot.
