  • 2 tablespoons honey

Step 1

Place the peanuts, pecans and honey in a blender or food processor (see tips). Turn the machine on, then increase the speed to the maximum. You may need to use a tamper to push the nuts down into the blades. Continue processing until the nut butter is churning freely and reaches the desired consistency.

Cover and refrigerate.

Quick Tips

1. I used a Vitamix blender to do this, which comes with a tamper for pushing the nuts down into the blade. Check your blender manual to see about making nut butters in your machine. If not, you can use a food processor.

2. If you are having trouble getting a smooth consistency, use a touch of canola oil. Add just a little at a time until you’ve reached the smoothness you like. When you store the nut butter in the fridge, the oil will rise to the top. You can pour it off at this time.
