Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bulk sausage
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 large bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 envelopes Lipton's chicken noodle soup
  • 1 cup rice
  • 4 1/2 cups water

Preparation

Step 1

Place sausage in skillet and scramble as it cooks and browns. With a slotted spoon, transfer sausage to a casserole dish. Pour off most of the fat in the skillet. In remaining fat, saute celery, pepper, and onion until softened. Set aside.

In a large kettle, combine soup mix, rice and water. Boil for 7 minutes. Add vegetables, rice mixture, and almonds to casserole. Mix well with sausage. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
