Ingredients

  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1 teasp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 5 quarts popped popcorn

Preparation

Step 1

In saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Immediately stir in baking soda and remove from heat. Mix peanuts with popcorn, and pour syrup over popcorn-peanut mixture, blending thoroughly.
Spread mixture on a lightly greased 15 x 10 x 1” baking pan. Bake at 200 degrees for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Yields 5 quarts.
