Ethel's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup shortening (part butter or margarine)
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups flour (spoon in)
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Chill at least 1 hour.

Heat oven to 400 deg. Roll dough 1'8" thick and cut with 3" cookie cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 6 - 8 minutes or until a delicate golden colour.

Makes 4 dozen.
