Ingredients

  • 1 stick soft butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 unsweeted cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tbs red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Step 1

Preheat oven350
Lined cupcake tins

In a mixer cream sugar and butter, add eggs, one at a time.

In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder together.

In a separate bowl mix together buttermilk, vinegar and food coloring and vanilla.

Put mixer on low, slowly alternate dry ingredients with wet ingredients into sugar mixture. End with wet ingredients.

Bake for 25 minutes or until tester is clean.
