Ingredients

  • 1 box (18.5-ounce) plain yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 3/4 cup amaretto, plus 3 1/2 Tbsp for glaze
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted for garnish
  • 1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Place rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Spray Bundt pan with Pam. Combine cake mix, ¾ cup amaretto, water, oil, eggs, and almond extract in mixing bowl. Blend with electric mixer on low speed for one minute, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. The batter should look thick and smooth. Pour into prepared pan and bake until golden brown and cake springs back when lightly pressed about 45 -55 minutes. Remove the pan from oven and place on wire rack to cook for about 20 minutes. Invert cake onto serving platter so it is right side up.
Prepare Glaze. Combine confectioners’ sugar and 3 ½ Tbsp amaretto in a small bowl. Stir until smooth. Spoon glaze over warm cake allowing it to drizzle over the sides. Scatter toasted almonds over the top to garnish. Allow cake to cool completely before serving.
