Ingredients

  • Barbecue Sauce:
  • 4-6 pound Pork Roast
  • 1/2 cup water (can also add liquid smoke, 1-2 Tbsp or to taste)
  • Salt, Pepper, paprika, garlic powder, to taste
  • 3 cup Ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp liquid smoke (or Worcestershire sauce)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1-2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4-1/2 cup chopped onion
  • Note: My simpler version is just the ketchup, brown sugar and liquid smoke.

Preparation

Step 1

Place meat in crock pot with water, sprinkle liberally with seasonings.
Cook 1-2 hours on high, then on low 6-8 hours or overnight.
Drain off most of drippings.
Shred the meat while it is warm. Stir in BBQ sauce to taste.
The BBQ pork is now ready to eat, may keep in crockpot on low/keep warm until serving, or cool and refrigerate or freeze.

Enjoy served over rice or on Hoagie Rolls or Hamburger Buns for sandwiches.

Directions for Barbecue Sauce:
Mix all ingredients with whisk.
