Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1 loaf french bread, cut into 1-1/2 - 2" slices
  • (Berkots mini loaves are good)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1-1/2 cups half n half
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg and 1/8+ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c light brown sugar
  • 2 TBS dark corn syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Heavily butter large casserole. Fill with bread slices covered to top: mix eggs, milk, vanilla, half n half and spices. Pour over bread. Refrigerate over night.

Mix topping ingreds and spread over bread.
Bake @ 350 - 40 min or until puffed and golden.
Let stand 5 min before serving.
