sunday treat chocolate cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup unsweetened powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3 eggs
• 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
• 1/2 cup vegetable shortening0
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 recipe sour cream frosting

• 1 box( 16oz) confectioners sugar
• 3/4 cup sour cream
• 1.2 cup melted semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350. grease and flour two 9 inch round baking pans, set aside. in bowl, combine first 6 ingredients, add next 4 ingredients. with mixer at high beat 2 minutes. pour into prepared pans. bake at 25-30 minutes. cool completely

in mixing bowl stir 1 box (16oz) confectioners sugar, 3/4 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup melted semisweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine until smooth and spreadable.
