Ingredients
- 1 1/3 C butter
- 1 C sugar
- 2/3 C water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cup chopped nuts.
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 12 oz chocolate chips
- finely chopped nuts.

Preparation
Step 1
Combine first 4 ingredients over low heat, string constantly until it boils. Continue to cook without stirring to 236 (soft ball) add 1 1/3 cups chopped nuts and cook til 290. Stirring constantly. Remove from heat add 1/2 tsp baking soda. Pour immediately onto cookie sheet. Mixture will be caramel color and some butter will separate. Top at once with 1 12 oz bag chocolate chips. These will melt and spread easily, then sprinkle finely chopped nuts over this and cool.
Break into pieces and keep cool.
