Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies, especially when they have pecans too! If you like chewy cookies, make sure you don't overbake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hard margarine, softened
  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 /2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Cream margarine and both sugars together in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Beat well.

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Add to margarine mixture. Mix until just moistened and stiff dough forms.

Add chocolate chips and pecans. Stir until evenly distributed. Drop by tbsps, 2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in 350 oven for 10 minutes until edges are golden. Do not overbake. Let stand on cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool.
