Ingredients

  • 1 cup Karo syrup
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 oz. flavoring oil
  • Food coloring to match flavor choice.

Preparation

Step 1

Place Karo, hot water and sugar in pan on stove.
Boil to 300 - 310 degrees on candy thermometer.
Once it reaches temperature add 1 oz. flavoring oil & food coloring as desired. Stir well.
Butter 2 glass dinner plates well, pour candy mixture half onto each plate. Place one plate in warm oven while working with the other.
Cover counter with powdered sugar, scrape candy off plate onto counter and pull into small pieces once workable. Roll pieces into long worm like shapes and snip into bite size pieces while twisting with scissors. Let set until hard on counter, then scoop up and shake off excess powdered sugar. Place in airtight container.
