best chocolate cake

Ingredients

• vegetable oil spray
• 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
• 1/4 lb butter, softened
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups cake flour
• 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 cup ice water

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350

spray baking pan with oil, set aside

in a small bowl set over boiling water, melt chocolate. remove bowl from heat and let chocoalte cool for 5 minutes.

in a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. add eggs and vanilla, mix well. add chocolate and combine.

in a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. add dry ingredients to the first mixture and blend. add ice water and beat till smooth. pour cake into prepared pans.

bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. cool, then frost.
