Ingredients

  • ONE CRUST
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup lard (or 1/3 cup+1 tbsp shortening)
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cold water
  • TWO CRUST
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup lard (or 2/3 cup + 2 tbsp shortening)
  • 4 tbsp cold water

Preparation

Step 1

Measure flour and salt into bowl. Cut in shorening thoroughly. Sprinkle in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing until all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl.
Add more water if necessary.
Roll on floured surface.

For Baked Pie Shell: prick bottom and sides thoroughly with fork.
Bake at 475 for 8 to 10 minutes.
