England Banger Pasties

Fabulous!! Must use british bangers! Makes plenty for 2 or 3 per person. Serve on green plates with side of peas and beer or mix the peas into it.

For Thanksgiving, make batch and a half ahead of time. Use large plus small mini muffing pans. bring mixture to room temp, place 2x2inch squares of Puff pastry in each muffing hole. dollop of meat mixture in each. bake at 350 about 25 mins. or until pastry is browned.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage-nanna bangers
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 2 celery stalk-minced
  • 1 carrot-minced
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes- several yukon gold
  • s & P
  • 2 cans Haggan brand or pilsbury refrigerated biscuit dough cut into 15 3 inch rounds
  • (it comes already cut)
  • one beaten egg
  • 1 cup cooked green peas

Step 1

Wash then cook the potatoes with salt. Meanwhile, brown the sausage in a skillet with the onion celery and carrot. Mash the pots with butter, milk, s & P. Mix all together, can incorporate peas too if you want. Roll out both cans of dough. Flatten them out a bit with your palm.Top each with a spoonful of meat filling and fold in half;pinch to seal (like cornish pasties) and brush with a beaten egg. make slits in the top and bake at 350 degrees until golden about 20 mins. check frequently
