Ingredients

• 1/2 cup crisco
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 4 cups flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 2 cups buttermilk
• 1 tbsp almond flavoring
• 1 tsp vanilla flavoring

• topping;
• 2/3 cup sugar
• 2/3 cup flour
• 6 level tbsp butter

Preparation

Step 1

beat crisco, sugar and eggs to a cream. sift together flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. alternately add dry ingredients and milk to sugar mixture, beating after each addition. makes 1 large and 1 small coffee cake, top with topping before baking.

topping; mix thoroughly and put on cake before baking for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
