Amish Applesauce Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 cups applesauce (Suggest unsweetened)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
• Raisins (Optional)
• Note
• For a fancier treat, drizzle with a glaze that's made by mixing 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar and 1 to 2 teaspoons water.
