Ingredients
- Makes about 2 cups (1 Cup)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (1 1/2 tsp)
- 2 1/3 cups light-brown sugar (1 Cup + 2 Tbsp + 2 1/2 tsp)
- 2 large egg yolks (1 Egg yolk)
- 1 cup heavy cream (1/2 Cup)
- 1/8 teaspoon coarse salt (1/16 tsp=Pinch)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (1/2 tsp)

Step 1
Heat butter and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Add egg yolks, cream, and salt, and cook, stirring, until smooth and creamy. Remove from heat and let cool. Stir in vanilla and serve.
