Ingredients

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sour milk (add 1 Tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice to milk)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup yellow raisins
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pastry for 9 inch single crust pie
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Mix the sour milk and sugar; add yolks, spices, salt and raisins. Line pie plate with pastry. Fill with the pie filling. Bake in a 400 degree oven to set pastry, for 10 minutes, then 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Remove and frost with 2 egg whites beaten with 3 Tablespoons sugar, until stiff. Brown in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
