SAVORY MUSHROOM PILLOWS

Ingredients
- 1 lb. fresh mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1 package (12 oz.) wonton wrappers
- vegetable oil

Step 1
Process mushrooms in a food processor until finely chopped. Melt butter with 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, green onions, and garlic, saute about 20 minutes or until liquid from mushrooms evaporates. Stirring constantly, add wine and cook until liquid evaporates. Stir in thyme, salt and pepper. Remove from heat and add cream cheese, stir until melted. Place 1 teaspoon mixture on lower half of each wonton wrapper. Brush edges with water, fold sides over filling. Fold lower edge of wrapper over filling and roll. Press edges to seal. Place seam side down, on baking sheet. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. To serve, deep fry appetizers in hot oil until browned, about 1-2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
