Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 3/4 cups sugar, divided
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and 2 cups of sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla. Add eggs 1 at at time beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add alternately with sour cream. Beating just enough after addition until smooth. Spoon 1/3 of batter into greased 10" tube pan. Combine cinnamon, nuts and remaining sugar. Sprinkle 1/3 over batter. Repeat layers 2 more times. Bake at 350 degrees for 70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack.
