Ingredients
- DRY INGREDIENTS:
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt (less if using salted butter)
- WET INGREDIENTS:
- 2 sticks butter (1 cup), softened
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips (or more)
- nuts, if desired

Step 1
Cream together softened butter, then add sugars, vanilla & eggs.
Add dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
Stir in chocolate chips & nuts, if desired.
Bake at 325 degrees on cookie sheets. Place heaping tablespoons onto sheets and bake for approx. 13 mins.; cookies should be just turning golden. Remove from oven & leave cookies on sheets for 7 mins., then remove to cool. (cookies will continue to bake outside oven on cookie sheets).
