Ingredients
- Glaze:
- Vegetable spray for the pan
- Flour to dust the pan
- 1 (18.25 oz) plain spice cake
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups finely chopped peeled apples (2 med)
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 3 tablespoons Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Lightly spray a 9x13 pan and dust with flour. Shake
out the excess flour.
3. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, buttermilk,
oil, whiskey and eggs. Blend with an electric mixer
on low speed for 1 minute. Scrape the sides of the
bowl.
4. Increase mixer speed to medium and beat 2 minutes
more. The batter should look thick and smooth.
5. Fold in the apples and pecans.
6. Pour into pan.
7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until cake is light brown
and springs back when lightly pressed with a finger.
8. Cool on a wire rack while preparing the glaze
Glaze:
1. Combine in a medium mixing bowl stir with a wooden
spoon until the sugar is dissolved and the glaze is
smooth.
2. Spoon the glaze over the warm cake, spreading it out
to the sides of the pan.
Cool cake 30 minutes before serving.
