Easy Dumpling Recipe

Do you have a hankering for melt-in-your mouth dumplings? Dumplings are the perfect accompaniment to stews and soups, adding extra goodness, texture and taste.
You can achieve tender dumplings every time when you know the secret to making delicious dumplings.
Traditional dumpling recipes call for lard or shortening. While these ingredients are suitable for biscuits, they are not the best choice for fluffy dumplings.

Ingredients
- 2 cup flour
- 4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (or more)
- 4 tablespoons soft butter

Step 1
1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in bowl
2. Cut in room temperature butter
3. Stir milk lightly into flour mixture with a wooden
spoon and adjust amounts so you have a moist
dumpling dough
4. Make sure soup or stew is on a gentle simmer
5. Drop dumplings into liquid by spoonfuls; cover
6. Check after 10 minutes; cook until dumplings are no
longer raw in the middle
Do not overcook; may disintegrate if cooked too long
