- Ingredients for Sour Cream Pound Cake Icing:
- 1 cup butter
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups plain flour
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1 cup (8 oz)( sour cream
- 1 1/2 dups sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1
Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly. Add 6 egg yolks to creamed mixture, blending thoroughly. Reserve whites for later use. Add vanilla and baking soda to creamed mixture. Add in small amounts, alternatively, 3 cups of plain flour and 1 cup sour cream to mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold beaten egg whites into batter. Pour into greased tube pan and bake at 325 for 1 to 1 ½ hrs or until done. Let cool in pan before removing.
Sour Cream Pound Cake Icing
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream; 1 ½ cups sugar; 1 cup chopped pecans; 1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream sour cream, sugar and vanilla together thoroughly. Cook until thick (about 15 min.) Remove from heat and add nuts, mixing thoroughly. (1/2 cup coconut or raisins, chopped may be added to nuts if desired.)
