Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup canned milk
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Step 1
Boil 2 1/2 cups sugar with milk and butter, about 5 min. or till thickened. Remove from fire. Brown 1/2 cup sugar in heavy iron skilet as lightly as possible. SLOWLY blend the two together. It will boil, so be careful. Remove from heat and let cool. DO NOT STIRR, it will turn to sugar. Cool till you can spread it. I will still be warm. Add nuts if desired. Makes enough for a 2 layered cake or a 9 X 13 cake.
