Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar; 2 cups self-rising flour; 1 stick margarine; 2 eggs beaten lightly; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 1/2 cup shortening; 3 tablespoons cocoa; 1 cup water; 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Fudge Frosting
  • 1 box XXXX powdered sugar; 4 tablespoons cocoa; 1 stick margarine; 1 stick margarine, 6 tablespoons milk

Preparation

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, mix sugar and flour. Put in saucepan oleo, cocoa, water and shortening. Bring to a boil; pour over sugar and flour mixture and stir well. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Pour in a greased pan and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.

Fudge Frosting

1 box XXXX powdered sugar; 4 tablespoons cocoa; 1 stick margarine; 1 stick margarine, 6 tablespoons milk

Heat together in saucepan until sugar is melted. Pour over hot cake. This makes enough icing for 2 cakes. Store half in refrigerator and use later.
