Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 tbsp. molasses
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. cloves

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Chill 1 hour.
Roll into balls. Dip into granulated sugar. Do NOT flatten balls with fork.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 deg. for 10 - 12 minutes.
