Ingredients
- 1/2 C chopped onion
- 2 TBLS EVOO
- 2 TBLS butter
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 lb ground meat
- 1/2 C white wine
- 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic & oregano
- 1 14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes with basil, garlic & oregano
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 4 oz jar of mushrooms (if desired)
- 1/3 C parmigiano-reggiano cheese
- can add: canned mushrooms

Preparation
Step 1
In a large saucepan, combine 1/2 C chopped onion and 2 TBLS each EVOO and butter over high heat.
Cook until golden, add in garlic, then stir in 1 lb ground beef and cook for 5 minutes; season with salt. Add 1/2 C white wine and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in canned tomatoes with their juice, season with salt, bring to a simmer and cook for 1 1/2 hours. Add 1/3 C grated parmigiano-reggiano cheese when tossing with pasta.
