Wheat and Herb Scones

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C flour
- 1 1/2 C whole wheat flour
- 1 T baking powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 C unsalted butter, cut into 1/2" pieces
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 C milk

Step 1
In a large bowl, mix flours, baking powder, herbs, until combined. Add butter; cut until coarse crumbs form.
In a small bowl, beat eggs and milk to blend; set aside 2 T of mixture. Add remaining egg mixture to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened.
Scrape onto floured board and knead about 6 turms until holds together. Divide in half. Pat each into a 3/4" thick round, 5 to 6 inches in diameter. Set well apart on an oiled baking sheet. Cut each round not quite through to form 6 equal wedges. Bursh with reserved egg-milk mixture.
Bake in 400F oven until golden brown, about 18 minutes. Serve hot or warm.
