Preparation

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in crisco, make a well. Add eggs, slightly beaten. Add vanilla and milk. Lightly mix with fork then fingers until crumbly. Refrigerate for one hour or overnight.

Next day, pinch off approximately meatball size dough. Roll onto floured terrt dishtowel approx. 3" x 8" piece but not higher than 1/8" thickness. Very delicate and sticky. Fill with about 4-5 Tbsp of filling. Lift off one side of dough and roll over to other side pinching slightly all sides. Place pinched side down on cookie sheet, may grease. Shape into 1 1/2" high at least.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly colored. Remove and put on wire rack to cool thoroughly.

May be frosted with butter cream frosting.

Prune Slices:

Place chopped/sliced prunes in pan, cover with water. Boil 10 minutes or until soft. Drain if necessary. While warm, add all ingredients and let sit before filling dough.
