Belgian Waffles

I have been using this recipe for years; every Christmas brunch and a couple times during the year. We will freeze the extras to enjoy later.
It takes a little time to do and a little patience but I would compare these waffles to anything you get at a restaurant.
I started making these on a single sided square waffle maker. I have graduated to a KitchenAid® Pro Line™ Waffle Maker, which made fluffier waffles

Ingredients
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine melted
- 1-1/8 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation
Step 1
Beat egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until light. Add cooled melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking powder & salt, beat well.
Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into batter.
Bake and serve.
