Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 c vegetable shortening (1/2 stick of crisco baking sticks)
• 1/2 c butter
• 1 3/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 t vanilla
• 2 c all purpose flour
• 1/2 t baking soda
• 1/4 t salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350.

2. Beat together shortening, butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla in a med bowl until light and fluffy. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. Shape dough into 1 in balls or use small cookie scoop. Place 2 in apart on ungreased baking sheet.

4. Bake 12-14 min or until golden brown. Remove to cooling rack after 1 min.
