Pecan Tarts

  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp butter softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • dash salt
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans


Preparation time 20mins
Cooking time 120mins


Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine cheese, 1/2 cup butter and flour. Mix thoroughly and chill, covered for one hour. Divide into 24 small balls and press into sides and bottom of ungreased mini-muffin pans.

Combine egg, brown sugar, vanilla, salt with 1 tbsp butter. Beat until smooth. Sprinkle 1/3 cup pecan pieces equally into 24 tart shells. Divide egg mixture equally among 24 tart shells, pouring over pecans. Sprinkle 1/3 cup pecan pieces on top of tarts.

Bake 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden bown.
