Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (1 ½ sticks) margarine, softened
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1 ½ cups rolled or quick oats
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar raspberry preserves (or any flavor preserves)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Beat margarine and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer set at medium until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
Add oats, flour, salt and baking soda to bowl; mix until crumbly. Press half the mixture into prepared baking dish.
Spread preserves evenly over oat mixture. Sprinkle remaining oat mixture over preserves.
Bake until lightly browned, about 20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
