Texas Buttermilk Sheet Cake

Ingredients

• Frosting:
• 1 1/2 cup water
• 3/4 cup oil
• 1 1/2 sticks butter
• 3 cups flour
• 3 cups sugar
• 3/4 cup cocoa
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 2 1/4 tsp. baking soda
• 3/4 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 bag of powdered sugar
• 1 stick butter
• 1/3 cup of buttermilk
• 1/4 cup cocoa

Preparation

Step 1

Bring first three ingredients to a boil. Then mix the next three ingredients. Add the next three ingredients. Pour into sheet cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Frosting: Bring to a boil the butter, buttermilk and cocoa. Then add powdered sugar (and nuts if desired). While cake is still warm, pour over cake.
