Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz.0 package frozen Tater Tots (These are pre-cooked, formed potato nuggets.)
  • 1 (16 oz.) container sour cream, regular or fat free
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10.75 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup or any condensed cream soup of choice
  • 3/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 can of potato sticks, crushed potato chips, dried french fried onions or cooked bacon-crumbled
  • Cooking oil spray (for greasing baking dish—you may use butter or oil.)

Preparation

Step 1

Spray a 13x9x2 inch baking dish with cooking oil spray (or grease with butter or oil). Arrange Tater Tots in evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, Cheddar cheese, condensed soup, and green onions. Stir until well blended. Pour mixture over the Tater Tots.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Sprinkle a can of potato sticks (or any topping of your choice) over the top of the casserole, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from the oven, and serve while hot!


Variations:
Replace the condensed soup with more sour cream.

Add the following options as desired:
1-2 envelopes of french onion soup
Corn, peas, or any cup-up vegetables of your choice
3-cheese mixture

Use this same recipe with the following added for a main course in a meal:

Left over turkey
