Frances Johnson's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup powdered sugar
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 egg
• 2 cups flour plus
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon soda
• 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugars and shortening. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and place on greased cookie sheet. Dip bottom of glass in sugar and press down on cookie. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes
