Ingredients

  • Sift together:

    cups sugar and 2 cups flour

  • Bring to rapid boil, then pour over dry ingredients:

    stick margarine or butter

    cup crisco

    cup water

    tablespoons cocoa

  • Add to above and mix well:

  • dash of salt

    teaspoon baking soda

    tsp cinnamon

    slightly beaten eggs

    cup buttermilk

    teaspoon vanilla

  • 1

    . Mix with electric mixer until smooth.

    . Pour into an 11 x 16 x 1.5-inch jelly roll pan.

    . Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

  • Frosting

  • 1/2

    cup margarine or butter

    tablespoons cocoa

    tablespoons milk

    lb confectioners' sugar

  • 1

    cup pecans, chopped

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

Directions

1. Bring margarine (or butter), cocoa, and milk to a boil. 3. Remove from heat and stir in confectioners' sugar and nuts. 4. Pour on cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
